45th President Donald Trump hinted that the US was behind the attack on the Nord Stream pipeline, not Russia.
Speaking exclusively to Tucker Carlson, in his first sit-down interview since his indictment, the former President was asked by Carlson who he thought blew up the Nord Stream pipeline in September of last year.
“I don’t want to get our country in trouble, so I won’t answer it. But I can tell you who it wasn’t, was Russia,” Trump replied, hinting he believed the United States was behind the attack on Nord Stream. “How about when they blamed Russia, you know, they said Russia blew up their own pipeline. You got a kick out of that one, too. It wasn’t Russia.”

After images were released by the Danish military in September, appearing to show geyser-like natural gas eruptions in the Baltic Sea, concerns and speculations were raised by European officials, internet users, and commentators such as Carlson, that the pipeline was blown up in a deliberate attack.
While most mainstream outlets at the time blamed Russia, some planted the blame directly at the feet of the US government, with speculation being fuelled by cryptic comments from Biden in early 2022, along with a supposedly celebratory tweet by a former Polish defence minister thanking America for its destruction.

In March, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh claimed the CIA planted fake news in mainstream outlets to cover up the Biden administration’s responsibility for the attack on Nord Stream, after he published an exposé claiming that US Navy divers blew the pipeline up.
However, the current administration has fervently denied US involvement, with Biden administration National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby pointing to to three “national investigations” into the event that are currently taking place.
“We still do believe it was an act of sabotage. The United States was not involved in any way, contrary to some press reporting out there,” Kirby told reporters last month.

During the same interview with Carlson, Trump speculated that Biden was not mentally strong enough to run against him in 2024, and issued a chilling warning about the devastation that a potentially nuclear World War 3 would look like.
