House Leader Kevin McCarthy has rebuked Representative Madison Cawthorn for daring to speak out about alleged cocaine-fuelled orgies, saying he has “lost his trust” in the freshmen Congressman.
As Valiant News reported, Cawthorn told John Lovell on the Warrior Poet Society podcast that he was astonished at the levels of “sexual perversion” that happen in the nation’s capital:
He told Lovell that, as someone interested in politics, he was shocked when”looked up to” invited him to attend “sexual get-togethers,” which he said were actually orgies.
Cawthorn also said he witnessed political leaders using cocaine in his presence.
“Some of the people that are leading on the movement to try and remove addiction in our country and then you watch them do, you know, a key bump of cocaine right in front of you and it’s like, wow, this is wild,” recounted Cawthorn.
Madison Cawthorn affirms Washington DC is like the movie House of Cards and said people that he’s looked up his whole life who are now in their 60’s or 70’s have invited him to an orgy at their home and others have done cocaine in front of him. pic.twitter.com/iJnWMJ9PIR

Republican politicians were outraged by his remarks, with Senator Thom Tillis calling on Cawthorn to “name names.”
Cawthorn was called to a meeting with Republican House leader Kevin McCarthy on Wednesday, who said that his remarks were “unacceptable.”
“I just told him he’s lost my trust, he’s gonna have to earn it back, and I laid out everything I find is unbecoming,” McCarthy told Axios. “And, you can’t just say ‘You can’t do this again.’ I mean, he’s got a lot of members very upset.”
Cawthorn allegedly conceded that some of his remarks on the podcast were untrue and exaggerated. “In the interview, he claims he watched people do cocaine. Then when he comes in he tells me, he says he thinks he saw maybe a staffer in a parking garage from 100 yards away,” McCarthy said.
“It’s just frustrating,” the GOP leader added. “There’s no evidence behind his statements. And when I sit down with him… I told him you can’t make statements like that, as a member of Congress, that affects everybody else and the country as a whole.”
It’s unclear whether Cawthorn will receive any punishment for his remarks, with McCarthy saying that a “lot of things” could happen.
At the time of writing, Cawthorn’s only public comment on the subject since the podcast has been to retweet Valiant News Associate Editor Jack Hadfield’s article on his initial comments from the podcast.

Unsurprisingly, many people on both the left and right of politics were suspicious at the backlash that Cawthorn received from McCarthy, and still believe that his initial comments regarding the cocaine and orgies are true.
Madison Cawthorn said today that his orgy and cocaine allegations were "exaggerated."

Ok @GOPLeader, were the comments exaggerated or untrue? Why did @CawthornforNC lose your trust? Because he told the truth or because he didn't? https://t.co/U8DgY0cBP8
