Rep. Greg Steube has been hospitalized after he fell off the roof of his Florida home on Wednesday afternoon.
In a statement posted to social media by his congressional office, they confirmed that Steube “was involved in an accident on his property late [Wednesday] afternoon and has sustained several injuries.” They added that they would provide any additional updates when available, and asked people to “pray for the Congressman and his family.”

According to reports, Steube fell 25 feet off of the roof of his house, while he was undertaking “routine home maintenance” on his property, and was discovered by a part-time staffer for his Congressional neighbour Rep. Vern Buchanan who was working as a delivery driver for Amazon.
After being found, Steube was hospitalized in a Sarasota region facility, according to reporter Peter Schorsch.
Now being told that it was a part-time aide for @VernBuchanan, Steube’s congressional neighbor, who moonlights as an Amazon delivery driver who discovered Steube in this situation. https://t.co/7BaYEsPPLx

Christian Ziegler, the current Vice Chairman of the Florida GOP, and who’s running for Chairman, tweeted that while Steube was still in the hospital late Wednesday night, he was “doing well.” Ziegler said the news was a “big relief,” as “our country, state and local community needs him to recover and get back to fighting for us in Congress ASAP.”
I just heard that even though Congressman @RepGregSteube is still in the hospital, he is doing well. Big relief to hear.
Our country, state & local community needs him to recover and get back to fighting for us in Congress ASAP.

Steube has maintained a reputation in the House as being one of the more conservative members, including stridently defending the 2nd Amendment. In a debate in June last year, Steube showed off his collection of firearms to other members, saying that he could do whatever he wants with them in his own home.
The Florida Republican was also a co-sponsor on a November bill introduced by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene that would audit the billions of dollars sent from the federal government to the embattled nation of Ukraine.
Far-left Twitter commentator and Florida lawyer Ron Filipkowski appeared to draw a connection between Steube backing Kevin McCarthy for Speaker, and his accident. “When you’re one of the good guys, you get to celebrate your enemies being injured,” tweeted conservative commentator Jim Treacher.
