President Joe Biden confused the war between Ukraine and Russia with the “war in Iraq,” before attempting to correcting the error by lying “that’s where my son died.”
The Iraq War lasted from 2003 to 2011, and did not involve either Ukraine or Russia.
Biden’s son Joseph Robinette “Beau” Biden III did not die in Iraq, and in fact never saw combat, dying of cancer in 2015.

Biden lied about his son dying in Iraq earlier this year, during a speech in Colorado during October.
“I say this as a father of a man who won the Bronze Star, the conspicuous service medal, and lost his life in Iraq. Imagine the courage, the daring, and the genuine sacrifice — genuine sacrifice they all made,” Biden claimed.
In July, Biden misspoke during the last day day of his tour to Saudi Arabia, mistakenly referencing the “selfishness” of the US armed forces instead of selflessness.
“For the first time since 9/11, an American President is visiting this region without American troops being engaged in combat — in a combat mission in the region,” Biden said.
“We’ll always honor the bravery and selfishness — selflessness of the — and sacrifices of the Americans who served, including my son, Major Beau Biden, who was stationed in Iraq for a year,” he added.
