President Joe Biden misspoke during the last day day of his tour to Saudi Arabia on Saturday, mistakenly referencing the “selfishness” of the US armed forces instead of selflessness.
“For the first time since 9/11, an American President is visiting this region without American troops being engaged in combat — in a combat mission in the region,” Biden said.
“We’ll always honor the bravery and selfishness — selflessness of the — and sacrifices of the Americans who served, including my son, Major Beau Biden, who was stationed in Iraq for a year,” he added.

Biden broke into a coughing fit and told the audience he “swallowed wrong” during an appearance in East Jerusalem earlier this week, where he discussed the two brain aneurysms and pulmonary embolism he suffered in 1988.
“I was making a speech and I had a terrible headac- (coughs) – excuse me – a terrible headache,” Biden said, breaking into a coughing fit. And, sorry -”
The President then took another sip of water and began coughing again before telling the audience, “I swallowed wrong.”
“I had a terrible headache. This was years ago,” Biden continued. “And I did a very stupid thing: I got on an aircraft and I flew home. It turned out I had two cranial aneurysms, and I got rushed to a hospital in the middle of a snowstorm for a nine-and-a-half-hour operation that saved my life.
“Then I had the second operation; they found an aneurysm on the other side of my brain. I joke, the reason they went in twice to take the top of my head off is because they couldn’t find a brain the first time,” he joked.
Biden revealed on Tuesday that every time he hears the US presidential anthem “Hail to the Chief” he starts wondering “where the hell” is the Chief in question (“Chief” is supposed to refer to the President himself).
“Well folks, uh, you don’t have to stand, every time I hear ‘Hail to the Chief’ I wonder ‘where the hell is he?’” Biden announced to the audience. “Took me a long while.”
“You think I’m joking, I’m not,” Biden clarified. “I turn around and [say], ‘Where, where, where’s the President?’”
