Sen. Lindsey Graham predicts unavoidable civil unrest if Joe Biden, through his Department of Justices, attempts to prosecute 45th President Donald Trump.
Graham, who is a possible heir to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell but has nonetheless forged a relationship with Trump, expressed the concerns during an appearance on Fox News over the weekend. The Republican suggested an attempt to prosecute Trump over documents the FBI seized at Mar-a-Lago would provoke an unpredictable response.
“How can you tell a conservative Republican that the system works when it comes to Trump?” Graham opined, before listing a series of examples that appear to reveal the Department of Justice and FBI as inherently political.
“If they tried to prosecute President Trump for mishandling classified information after Hillary Clinton set up a server in her basement there will be riots,” warned Graham. “I worry about the country.”

Graham’s comments come only days after the New York Times editorial board openly called for Biden’s government to prosecute Trump, either for trumped up January 6 claims or for documents allegedly mishandled at Mar-a-Lago. They framed it as “a necessary first step” to fixing “structural problems that led to the greatest crisis in American democracy since the Civil War.”
The Senator’s Fox News appearance also comes days after an Epstein-affiliated judge in Florida allowed the release of a heavily redacted affidavit that the FBI provided when asking for the warrant to search Trump’s home.

While comically redacted, with more of the document obscured by black ink than legible, the document revealed that the agency believes Trump had still-classified documents mixed in with documents he previously declassified buried in storage at Mar-a-Lago.
Trump described the FBI and Department of Justice as “practicing Election Interference at the highest and most dishonest level our Country has ever seen before, both in the Midterms, and the 2024 Presidential Election” in a post to his Truth Social account on Sunday.
In another post, Trump wrote, “Judge Bruce Reinhart should NEVER have allowed the Break-In of my home. He recused himself two months ago from one of my cases based on his animosity and hatred of your favorite President, me. What changed? Why hasn’t he recused himself on this case? Obama must be very proud of him right now!”
