House Democrats are blaming the Trump administration for pressuring the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to “block” safety data on COVID-19 vaccine as allies of 45th president Donald Trump urge him to denounce the controversial injections.
According to a report from Democrats on the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis, subsequently echoed by Politico, the Trump White House urged FDA officials to authorize “the first Covid-19 vaccines on an accelerated timeline,” which reportedly involved blocking the FDA from “collecting additional safety data on Covid-19 vaccines in order to get them to the public before the 2020 presidential election.”

The report claims that the “Trump administration also tried to pressure the FDA to authorize the first Covid-19 vaccines ahead of the presidential election” and according to then-FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn, said “said they would not sign off on emergency use authorization language that required a 60-day safety follow up for late-stage clinical trials.”
“Ultimately, the FDA went ahead with the 60-day follow-up plan without an explicit blessing from the White House, though the White House later cleared it,” reads the report.
“The Select Subcommittee’s findings that Trump White House officials deliberately and repeatedly sought to bend FDA’s scientific work on coronavirus treatments and vaccines to the White House’s political will are yet another example of how the prior Administration prioritized politics over public health,” House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.)
“These assaults on our nation’s public health institutions undermined the nation’s coronavirus response,” he added.
As Valiant News reported, Infowars host Alex Jones recently urged Trump to take a public stance against the COVID-19 vaccines concocted under his administration in order to save his “important legacy” and secure his return to the White House in 2024.
“The number one issue that is gonna end up biting you in the ass like nothing else,” said Jones, “is the experimental shot that Fauci and Bill Gates, and Birx, and the rest of them, convinced you would actually save millions of lives and get the economy going when they had brought out their lockdowns.”

“I know why you did it,” said Jones. “I want to support you for president. But Ron DeSantis is coming out and admitting that the vaccines don’t work because now the CDC and others have been forced to admit that.”
Jones, who had previously stated that opponents of the former president could potentially use his staunch COVID-19 vaccine support against him in order to score political points, appeared to throw his support behind Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for the 2024 election, describing him as better than Trump based largely on the DeSantis’ opposition to mandatory vaccinations.
He later said that the media took his remarks out of context and urged President Trump to simply “reassess the situation” when it comes to his support and advocating for the injections – which do not prevent individuals from catching or spreading coronavirus.
