Christian conservatives began loudly cheering when it was announced that Roe v. Wade was overturned this morning, even as Democrats began openly weeping and shouting that the Supreme Court was illegitimate.
The controversial case codifying abortion into U.S. law was overturned in a 5-4 majority, with moderate conservative Chief Justice John Roberts agreeing with some of the premises as his conservative colleagues while refusing to join them.
Justices Samuel Alito, joined by Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney-Barrett, joined the majority opinion of the court in overturning Roe v. Wade and Casey v. Planned Parenthood. Chief Justice John Roberts filed a concurring opinion – Kavanaugh and Thomas also filed their own opinions. Justices Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor, and Elena Kagan, all dissented.
Crowds had gathered outside the Supreme Court before the decision was announced, and the scene represented the sharp partisan divide on abortion. Conservatives began cheering when the case was officially overturned.

At the same time, Democrats in favor of virtually unrestricted abortion began shouting that the Supreme Court was an “illegitimate” entity.
Multiple women began to openly weep on camera, makeup running down their faces, before the “illegitimate” chant began.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Trump-endorsed conservative champion from Georgia, celebrated the decision and said her payers had been answered.
“I think it’s a miracle, I’m so thrilled, I’ve cried about this, we’ve prayed,” said Greene. “The Supreme Court had the courage, they had the bravery,” Greene added.
“Hopefully this can be the beginning to the end of abortion,” she added. “I think we know God is real and I think we know that prayer works, and I’m just so overjoyed.”

Still, pro-abortion protesters attempted to make their message heard of their pro-life countrymen.
“We’re staying here,” shouted one pro-abortion protester with glitter and makeup smeared across her face, “And we’re making sure that these women are safe from people like this.”
