In the wake of a heated presidential debate last week, Biden campaign Rapid Response Director Ammar Moussa has come under intense scrutiny and mockery on social media platforms for falsely claiming that former President Donald Trump has made zero public appearances since the debate.

Moussa’s statement came in response to a Washington Post article highlighting President Joe Biden’s limited public appearances since the debate. The article noted that Biden had only appeared publicly three times, speaking for a total of 22 minutes, exclusively while using teleprompters.

In a post on X, Moussa criticized the Washington Post article, stating, “Trump has appeared at ZERO public events since the debate. No mention of that in this story.”

However, Moussa’s claim was quickly debunked as Trump held a rally in Virginia the morning immediately after the debate. This event was widely covered by various media outlets and was attended by thousands of supporters.

The false claim by Moussa has led to widespread ridicule and criticism on social media, with many users pointing out the inaccuracy of his statement and questioning his credibility.

Conservative commentator and influencer Alex Bruesewitz tweeted, “Unsurprisingly Biden’s director of rapid response is incredibly stupid. President Donald J. Trump held a MASSIVE rally in Virginia the day after the debate.”

Breaking911, a popular news account, also chimed in, tweeting, “THEY CAN’T STOP LYING: Ammar Moussa, the Director of Rapid Response for @joebiden, tweeted that ‘Trump has appeared at ZERO public events since the debate.'”

The account confirmed, “FACT: President Trump held a massive rally in Virginia and has done 5 unscripted interviews since the debate.”

Moussa’s false claim comes at a time when the Biden campaign is facing criticism for its handling of the president’s public appearances and communication strategy. Critics argue that Biden’s limited public appearances and reliance on teleprompters could be perceived as a sign of weakness or lack of confidence.

The incident highlights the importance of fact-checking and accuracy in political discourse, especially in the age of social media where misinformation can spread rapidly. It also underscores the intense scrutiny and pressure faced by political campaigns and their staff in the current hyper-partisan environment.
