In a recent meeting with 28 Democratic governors, President Joe Biden, 81, made controversial remarks about his work schedule, stating that he needs to work fewer hours, take more naps, and avoid events held after 8 p.m.
This attempt to reassure the Democrat party about his cognitive capabilities has only served to raise more questions about his ability to run both the country and a presidential campaign against Donald Trump.

Reports have indicated that Biden has trouble functioning outside of a 6-hour window between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., being prone to more absentmindedness, fatigue, and gaffes outside of these hours. This has led to concerns about his ability to handle the rigors of the presidency and effectively campaign against Trump.
Additionally, another report from New York magazine published Thursday and titled “The Conspiracy of Silence to Protect Joe Biden” revealed that “It hasn’t been good for a long time but it’s gotten so, so much worse,” according to one witness who saw Biden get “fed” a greeting to recite to a mega-donor by his wife Jill. “So much worse!”
Putting aside the “everyone knew and stayed silent” element…

According to the article, longtime friends of the first family revealed that Biden no longer even remembered their names.
Despite these reassurances, many Americans remain concerned about Biden’s mental state. A recent poll found that 67% of voters believe he is too old to serve another term as president, and a majority are more concerned about his age than about the criminal charges and threats to democracy posed by his opponent, Donald Trump.
As the election approaches, it remains to be seen whether Biden’s comments about his work schedule will ultimately cost him his bid for re-election. But one thing is certain: the president’s remarks have only added fuel to the fire of those who question his ability to lead.
