In a recent development, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has filed a complaint with the Georgia ethics commission against Nathan Wade, an outside attorney hired by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to prosecute a case against former President Donald Trump and his allies over alleged 2020 election interference.
Greene claims that Willis and Wade were engaged in an “improper” and “clandestine” romantic relationship at the time of Wade’s hiring. In her complaint, Greene alleges that Wade may have violated state law by failing to register and file lobbyist paperwork disclosing “his solicitation” of Willis and his “excessive gifts” to the DA.

The Georgia congresswoman also noted that Willis had allegedly paid Wade nearly $700,000 in official funds since hiring him to the Trump case.
Greene claims that this could be an “obviously illegal conflict of interest.”

The complaint comes after a report by The Wall Street Journal that Willis had been subpoenaed in Wade’s divorce case, which first revealed the alleged relationship.
In response to the allegations, Fani Willis has not publicly commented on the matter as of yet. It remains to be seen how this complaint will impact the ongoing case against former President Trump and his allies.
