Podcast host Bill Mitchell, one of the high profile influencers backing Gov. Ron DeSantis for president in 2024, has threatened to file a libel lawsuit against pro-Trump comedian Roseanne Barr after the TV star and podcast host mocked Mitchell’s gym selfies.
In a now-deleted post, Mitchell – who describes his social media feed as “#DeSantis2024 Central” and has an interview with DeSantis campaign spokesman Carly Atchinson pinned to the profile of his X account, formerly Twitter, at press time – polled his followers: “Should I sue @therealroseanne for libeling me?” The overwhelming majority of poll respondents answered “no” before Mitchell deleted the post.
“Please stop, I haven’t been talking to you and you’ve tagged me three times in two hours,” wrote Barr in response. “I’ve respectfully left you alone for days now.”
Team DeSantis is so petty, so childish, so utterly without expertise that they have started a war against…
Roseanne Barr.

Mitchell shot back, “Now that you’ve gotten tired of libelling me, you want me to forget about all that? Issue a public apology and retraction and I might consider legal action.
In that post, Mitchell revealed he was upset because Barr joked that Mitchell has AIDS, sharing a gym selfie that Mitchell himself previously uploaded to the platform. The statement is false, and Barr called it a joke.
“I’m sorry I made a joke about you going to creepy sex resorts and getting an STD,” Barr replied, also apologizing for comparing Mitchell to a YouTube video that features a speedo-sporting elderly man. Barr added, “I’m sorry… To him – because he is way less creepy.”

Mitchell again replied, this time thanking Barr for “more evidence” for his impending litigation. He added, “Have any more?”
Barr replied by threatening to block the pro-DeSantis podcaster. In response, he wrote, “I’m seeking counsel now. You had a chance to retract and apologize and instead you doubled down.”
The “Roseanne” star countered, “Ok. Can you leave me alone now please. It’s becoming harassment.”
No- please block me and stop tweeting at me. I’m bored. I’m going to

Barr recently launched “The Roseanne Barr Podcast” in which she interviews comedians, political figures, and YouTube celebrities. Her recent interviews include discussions with investigative journalist James O’Keefe, comedian and “Blue Collar Comedy Tour” alumna Ron White, and conservative-leaning transgender influencer Blaire White.
Today it was also reported that Barr landed a new show with Publicsq, an online marketplace for conservatives, that will air on X.
I couldn’t be more excited to start a show right here on X!@elonmusk has said that “Comedy is legal” on his site. We will certainly be taking advantage of that!

Prior to making her comedic return last year, Barr slammed cancel culture in a Reelz interview. “I’m a g*ddamn American and I’m not going to do it,” said Barr at the time. “I’m a comic. I’m a bad girl. I’m too rock and roll. I’m going to say f**k it and f**k you until I take my last breath. ”
