Actor Jamie Foxx apparently spoke to fellow star John Boyega on the phone in what may be his first conversation with someone other than doctors, family, and his agents since a mysterious illness left him hospitalized earlier this year.
Boyega told People about the conversation with Foxx while at the Hollywood premiere of “They Cloned Tyrone”, relaying that the 55-year-old “Collateral” actor is apparently recovering from the mystery illness.
“He finally picked up the phone,” Boyega told People. “I gave him all the well wishes. So I’m just gonna be waiting until he comes back out here. So take your time, Jamie. We love you, bro.”
Producer Datari Turner told the outlet that Foxx “is doing amazing” and is “in really, really good shape and spirits,” promising the actor will “be back on the screen” and “back to work very soon.”

Previously, Boyega claimed that “no one has heard from Jaime” and told the press he was repeatedly calling the actor out of concern, according to The Daily Mail.
Foxx contracted a mysterious illness that reportedly led to his collapse on April 12. He was hospitalized for a lengthy – but undisclosed – period of time. Foxx, his family, and his representatives have remained quiet on the illness itself, leading to intense speculation online.
In an appearance by Gossip columnist A.J. Benza on the “Ask Dr. Drew” podcast earlier this month, Benza claimed that Foxx’s hospitalization was somehow related to a Covid-19 vaccine, prompting the family to make its first public statements on the cause of the hospitalization.
Contradicting Benza’s claims that Foxx suffered a “blood clot” after being “pressured” to get a Covid-19 vaccine for a movie, daughter Corinne Foxx asserted that the “Django Unchained” actor had been “home for weeks” and “well enough to play pickleball.”

Prior to Benza’s remarks, boxing legend Mike Tyson seemed to let a possible cause for the hospital stay slip during an appearance on a Valuetainment podcast.
“He’s not feeling well. Yeah, there’s a stroke…” Tyson revealed before backtracking. “I don’t know what happened to him. Hey listen, we can’t anticipate our next breath. We don’t know when we are gonna die… After we leave this — bad stuff can happen.”
Foxx is an American actor, singer, and comedian. Born Eric Marlon Bishop in Terrell, Texas, Foxx began his career as a stand-up comedian before venturing into film and television. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of musician Ray Charles in the biopic “Ray,” for which he won an Academy Award for Best Actor.
