“You wouldn’t be a choice of mine, either, to be honest with you. I hope you’re not insulted.”

A clip from the deposition of 45th President Donald Trump in the civil trial brought by rape accuser E. Jean Carroll – who once declared “I have not been raped” and described sexual assault as “sexy” – is going viral on Twitter after the former president gave his honest thoughts on one of his accusers and the opposing lawyer.

Trump’s remarks came after a question about Jessica Leeds, who accused Trump of sexual assault in the 1970s and testified in the Carroll trial, and who Trump once said was not sexually attractive to him.

The opposing lawyer asked Trump, “When you said in that video that Ms. Leeds would not be your first choice, you were referring to her physical looks, correct?”

“Just the overall, not – I looked at her. I see her. I hear what she says. Whatever,” said Trump in a deposition clip that appears to be dated to last October. “You wouldn’t be a choice of mine, either, to be honest with you. I hope you’re not insulted. I wouldn’t under any circumstances have any interest in you, I’m honest when I say it.”

He reiterated, “She, I would not have any interest in.”

Trump also commented on the famous Access Hollywood tape that showed him remarking on how women are drawn to his wealth and fame.

Carroll’s claims first surfaced in 2019, when she appeared on CNN with Anderson Cooper to advance her claims about Trump assaulting her in a department store dressing room.

Her story seemed to unravel during that appearance, when she told Cooper that “people think of rape as being sexy” and asked viewers to “think of the fantasies.” About Trump, she said, “So this one incident, this one, what, three minutes in this little dressing room, I just say it’s a fight. That way I’m not the victim, right? I’m not the victim.”

Carroll later told the New York Times: “I have not been raped” and clarified that she is not a victim.

“Every woman gets to choose her word. Every woman gets to choose how she describes it. This is my way of saying it. This is my word. My word is ‘fight,'” said Carroll. “My word is not the victim word. I have not – I have not been raped,” she continued. “I have – something has not been done to me. I fought. That’s the thing.”
