Fox News host Tucker Carlson slammed Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky for recently bragging about having the “attention” and “cooperation” of international financial titans even as the U.S. banking industry struggles to remain solvent.
Carlson questioned why corporate media has failed to be critical of financial institutions, even as the U.S. banking system is under its greatest strain since the financial crisis of 2008.
“As banks are collapsing, no one in media is anxious to criticize banks. Almost no matter what they do, it doesn’t matter what they do. Even if they were to, just pulling this out of thin air, openly profiteer from a war in Eastern Europe that’s killing hundreds of thousands of people,” Carlson said.
“Oh, it turns out they are,” he added. “And we know that because Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, and a very close friend of banks and BlackRock, is bragging about it.”
The Fox News host then played a clip of Zelensky boasting his relationship with institutions like BlackRock, JP Morgan, and Goldman Sachs.

“It is obvious that American business can become the locomotive that will once again push forward economic growth,” said Zelensky, according to the translation. “We have already managed to attract attention and have cooperation with such giants of the international financial and investment world as BlackRock, JP Morgan, and Goldman Sachs.”
Carlson chimed in: “So, we’re getting moral lectures from the banks, and we’re getting a lecture on capitalism from some Ukrainian oligarch in a sweatshirt.”
Even as Zelensky brags about support from U.S. financial institutions, the Biden administration is attempting to reassure Americans to trust the industry.
“Americans can rest assured that our banking system is safe. Your deposits are safe,” Biden said during a 7 minute set of remarks in the Roosevelt room. “Let me also assure you we will not stop at this. We will do whatever is needed on top of all this.”

Superimposed upon the ongoing U.S. financial downturn is the prospect of the Ukraine-Russia war igniting into a Third World War between the world’s most powerful nuclear nations, said 45th President Donald Trump during a speech in Iowa earlier this week.
The former president has repeatedly claimed that he could end the worsening military conflict between Ukraine and Russia in just 24 hours by mediating peace negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Zelensky.
“Standing before you today, I am the only candidate who can make this promise: I will prevent World War 3,” the former president told the large crowd of supporters. “Because I really believe you’re going to have World War 3.”
