Trump: DeSantis ‘Caved’ In ‘Public Relations Battle’ With Disney

Trump accused DeSantis of letting Disney off easy.

45th President Donald Trump accused Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis of caving to Disney despite posturing himself as “Mr. Tough Guy” against left wing corporations.

DeSantis overhauled the “corporate kingdom” overseeing Walt Disney World late last month by signing a bill allowing the governor to appoint Disney “special district” board members after the company slammed him over Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill. Originally, DeSantis and Florida Republicans promised to totally remove the special district, which is self-governing and tax exempt in the state.

The former president pointed out in a Truth Social post that Disney remains exempt from property and sales tax, tax free bonds, and fast track permitting, all despite DeSantis’ claiming victory.

“Ron DeSanctimonious totally caved in his public relations inspired battle with Disney. That’s the only reason he went after them in the first place, to show Mr. Tough Guy,” wrote Trump. “Disney maintained complete exemption from property & sales tax, tax-free bonds, and their incredible fast track permitting.”

“They also gave big political contributions to DeSanctus. The whole thing is a Hoax – They probably worked together to make him look like a fighter. Read Rick Foglesong, preeminent authority on Disney,” he added.

Though DeSantis continues to posture himself as a potential America First presidential candidate, this Disney revelation adds to a growing number of causes for concern to many conservatives.

Valiant News recently reported that DeSantis once signed a letter alongside disgraced former GOP Congressman Adam Kinzinger supporting the U.S.-supported 2013 Maidan coup in Ukraine that urged the Obama administration to take action against “the Kremlin.”

“We are writing to express our deep concern over the current situation in Ukraine,” the Congressmen wrote, before celebrating the large protests against Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich following his refusal to sign an “economic accord with the European Union.”

“It is deeply troubling,” wrote DeSantis and his colleagues, for Ukraine to “cast aside years of positive bilateral talks that would move Ukraine closer to EU integration and strengthen their young democracy.”

Some conservatives have speculated as to whether DeSantis will run for president in 2024 as a pro-Ukraine war hawk, compared to Trump’s desire to broker peace between Moscow and Kiev.
