FBI Finds More Biden Documents After Search at University of Delaware

The FBI have recovered documents from the University of Delaware, as part of their investigation into supposed mishandling of classified documents by Joe Biden.

According to a source familiar with the investigation who spoke to CNN, FBI investigators retrieved documents from two different locations at the University of Delaware in two different days, with the searches approved ahead of time by the Biden legal team.

The searches, which had been previously undisclosed, took place at the Delaware university within recent weeks. The university, which Biden graduated from in 1965, stores over 1,850 boxes in their library, full of documents and records from his time in the Senate, among other items that he sent to them in recent years.

Despite having arrived at the University of Delaware in 2012, none of the documents have been available to the public in the 10 years since. The documents that were retrieved by the FBI did not appear to be marked as classified, according to the source, but are currently being review by the agency.

Spokesmen for Biden’s personal attorney and the White House referred the media to search for comment with the Justice Department, who also declined to comment. The University of Delaware has yet to comment on the situation.

The University of Delaware now becomes the second academic-linked institution that the FBI have searched for classified documents that Biden may have mishandled. In November, the former Vice President’s office at the Penn Biden Center, a think-tank linked to the University of Pennsylvania, was also searched.

The searches at both university buildings were not immediately disclosed by the White House. In January, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre tried to claim that the Biden administration has been “transparent” with the American public about FBI searches.

Earlier this month, Biden’s Rehoboth Beach House was searched by the FBI, taking “for further review some materials and handwritten notes that appear to relate to his time as Vice President.” Classified documents were also found in his Wilmington residence, as well as at the Penn Biden Center.
