A newspaper belonging to the Chinese Communist Party has cautioned Twitter CEO Elon Musk against sharing the U.S. Department of Energy’s report that the COVID-19 virus most likely originated in a Chinese laboratory.

After Musk shared reports on the U.S. government’s findings, the African American billionaire was warned by the Chinese Communist Party-controlled Global Times that he was “breaking the pot of China” for suggesting that they were culpable for the pandemic.

According to CBNC reporter Eunice Yoon, the phrase “breaking the pot” is similar to “biting the hand that feeds you.”

Tesla, a company owned by Musk, has an “expansive factory campus in Shanghai, and China is the electric vehicle manufacturer’s second largest market,” the outlet reported.

“The Telsa founder had been retweeting posts promoting the theory that coronavirus originated from a Wuhan lab.”

“Well, the issue is very sensitive here in China and so the Communist Party paper, the Global Times, warned on it’s social media site that he could be ‘breaking the pot of China.'”

“This is a Chinese saying that is similar to ‘biting the hand that feeds you’,” CNBC reported.

“This warning comes as Chinese officials, both on a high level as well as on a lower level of the government are really to pulling out all the stops and try to attract U.S. investment into China. The directive has come all the way from the top, President Xi Jinping, who has been saying that there should be greater effort to attract more and welcome more foreign capital as well as more foreign investment,” the outlet reported.

Biden’s Energy Department concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic was caused by a laboratory leak in a classified intelligence report given to certain members of Congress and the White House, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal citing a classified intelligence report.

“The shift by the Energy Department, which previously was undecided on how the virus emerged, is noted in an update to a 2021 document by Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines’s office,” reported the Journal. The outlet reported that the U.S. Department of Energy made their conclusion with “low confidence.”
