Joe Biden has told reporters that he has “no regrets” about his mishandling of classified documents that were found in his Delaware home.

The former Vice President spoke to reporters in California on Thursday, while he was in the state to assess recent storm damage. Near the end of his time speaking to the press, one reporter asked Biden about the classified documents that were found in the garage of his Delaware home, left right next to his Corvette.

“I will answer the question, but here’s the deal,” Biden said. “You know what, quite frankly, bugs me is that we have a serious problem here we’re talking about. We’re talking about what’s going on,” he added, referring to the storm damage. “And the American people don’t quite understand why you don’t ask me questions about that.”

Despite claiming that “the American people” don’t want reporters to quiz Biden about the mishandled documents, a new Yahoo News/YouGov poll suggests otherwise. 64% of all Americans are in favour of a Congressional investigation into his mishandling of the documents, including 52% of Democrats. Only 16% of all Americans are opposed to such.

Biden was then asked a follow up question, quizzing if he had any regrets. He leapt to his defence, and put the situation down to a simple mistake.

“We found a handful of documents were filed in the wrong place,” he said. Biden then again claimed to be fully cooperating with the investigation.

Finishing off his statement, he added that not only does he have “no regrets,” but that any investigation would find there’s “nothing” to it. “I’m following what the lawyers have told me they want me to do. It’s exactly what we’re doing. There’s no there there,” he concluded.

Biden was far less generous when it came to the alleged mishandling of supposedly classified documents by 45th President Donald Trump that resulted in a raid on his Mar-a-Lago residence last year.

When asked by 60 Minutes what his thoughts were when he heard the news, Biden claimed that he asked himself how that could possibly happen” and “how anyone could be that irresponsible” with classified material. “I thought, what data was in there that may compromise sources and methods? By that I mean, names of people who helped etc,” he said. “It’s just, totally irresponsible.”

No regrets? Perhaps he should be given reason to have some regrets. How many of those documents did he share with China?

It doesn’t matter if the documents were shared with China because that is another crime. His stealing classified documents is its own crime. try and punish him for this, then if investigations turn up evidence that any of these documents were provided to any foreign agents try him for treason and hang him!
