Kari Lake expressed optimism in her post-election speech on Thursday, telling an Arizona crowd that they will “declare victory” when all the legal votes are counted.

Lake, standing as a strong America First candidate for Arizona Governor against current Democrat Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, spoke to gathered Arizonans on Tuesday night following the close of polls, after an eventful day that included widespread voting issues reported in Maricopa County.

“Two minutes into voting we had people being told you had to put your ballots over here into this little box,” Lake said. “Guys, the fake media back there tried to tell us we were wrong for asking questions about our elections. Guess what? We are going to win this!”

“I just want you to know, it’s early. It’s very early, and if we have to take this fight through, we will,” she added. “If it takes hours or days, we will. But the great news is, every single drop of election ballots that have come in the last three drops have shown us up 85%, 87%, 81%! I just want the propagandists back there to know, don’t embarrass yourselves.”

Lake, who has fought for election integrity throughout her campaign, informed the crowd that they would make sure to “monitor the ballots” as they continue to come in, and that when she does declare victory, “the first line of action is to restore honesty to Arizona elections.”

“The system that we have right now does not work. We the people deserve to know on election night the winner and the loser, and we will bring that kind of election back to Arizona,” she continued. “We will not stop fighting until we have every legal vote counted. So we’re going to be patient guys, we’re going to wait.”

At the time of writing, with around 66% of votes reported, Lake trails her Democrat opponent by only 49.66% to 50.34% at press time. The former Arizona newscaster stayed positive on Wednesday morning, tweeting that she was confident that she was going to “win big,” noting that remaining ballots “are all breaking BIGLY for Kari Lake.”

As Revolver News noted in its analysis, the outstanding votes in Arizona are largely Republican.

Lake, down by around 12,000 votes since election night with less than 70% of votes in, is likely to secure the majority of the 400,000 outstanding votes.
