Ukraine’s ambassador to Germany told African-American billionaire Elon Musk to “f*ck off” after the billionaire suggested that Ukraine and Russia sort out a peace deal to avoid “nuclear war.”
Musk listed off terms of what could potentially bring peace to Eastern Europe amid the Ukraine-Russia conflict in a Twitter thread posted on Monday.
Among the terms of the peace prospect included a United Nations-supervised “redo” of the referendums which saw several Ukrainian regions joining Russia last week, letting Crimea remain a part of Russia with an assured water supply, and a position of Ukrainian neutrality between Russia and NATO countries.
“This is highly likely to be the outcome in the end – just a question of how many die before then,” Musk wrote, adding that “that a possible, albeit unlikely, outcome from this conflict is nuclear war.”
Ukraine-Russia Peace:
– Redo elections of annexed regions under UN supervision. Russia leaves if that is will of the people.
– Crimea formally part of Russia, as it has been since 1783 (until Khrushchev’s mistake).
– Water supply to Crimea assured.
– Ukraine remains neutral.

In response to Musk’s ideas of peace, Ukraine’s ambassador to Germany Andrij Melnyk told the billionaire to “fuck off” and claimed that Ukrainians will no longer purchase Tesla products.
“The only outcome ist that now no Ukrainian will EVER buy your f…ing tesla crap. So good luck to you,” Melnyk tweeted. “Fuck off is my very diplomatic reply to you.”

Much to the displeasure of the Russian Federation, Musk has been providing the Ukrainian government with Starlink satellite systems to increase the embattled country’s internet connectivity throughout the conflict.
Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky had previously said he was “grateful” for Musk’s Starlink support.
However, after Musk’s peace proposal, the leader posted a Twitter poll that appeared to cast doubts on Musk’s loyalty to the Kiev-based government.

Following backlash from his peace proposal, Musk took to Twitter again to ask his followers if they believed that “the will of the people who live in the Donbas & Crimea should decide whether they’re part of Russia or Ukraine.”
Let’s try this then: the will of the people who live in the Donbas & Crimea should decide whether they’re part of Russia or Ukraine

Pro-Ukraine Twitter user Renata Konkoly responded to Musk’s second poll and praised him for “enabling Starlink and providing thousands of terminals” for Ukraine, but accused Musk of enraging “many Ukrainians” with his ideas of peace between nations.
“You are assuming that I wish to be popular. I don’t care,” Musk wrote back. “I do care that millions of people may die needlessly for an essential identical outcome.”

“Russia is doing partial mobilization. They go to full war mobilization if Crimea is at risk. Death on both sides will be devastating,” the billionaire added in a separate reply.
“Russia has >3 times population of Ukraine, so victory for Ukraine is unlikely in total war. If you care about the people of Ukraine, seek peace,” Musk wrote.
