All of the major broadcast networks refused to air Joe Biden’s vicious and glaringly political anti-MAGA speech on Thursday, instead determining reruns of sitcoms and crime dramas would be better for ratings than a message from the man who holds the White House.
In his “Red Sermon” speech, Biden accused Donald Trump and his supporters – at least 74 million across the United States and hundreds in Congress – as a “threat” to the “soul” of the United States and “democracy” and appeared to threaten to use the military against their “extreme” ideology. Press Secretary Jen Psaki defended the speech the next day, though when asked by reporters Biden reneged on his belief that 74 million Americans are a “threat.”
Now, it is being revealed that Biden’s speech was so glaringly political that the three major broadcast networks – ABC, NBC, and CBS – refused to broadcast the remarks.
Everytime I think Biden and crew can’t be dumber they outdo themselves. Seriously who gives a speech warning people about how dangerous Republicans are to Democracy while having a background that looks like the Soviet Union and Hitler had a baby? pic.twitter.com/sukqTswI3C

Broadcast networks have almost always complied with White House requests for air time, notes PJ Media and The Washington Post, with notable exceptions coming when the networks deem remarks too political or not newsworthy. PJ Media offers the 1988 moment that saw networks refuse to broadcast Ronald Reagan’s speech on the Nicaraguan Contras because he offered “nothing new” in his remarks.
PJ Media reports that NBC chose instead to broadcast a rerun of “Law & Order”, while CBS chose a rerun of “Young Sheldon”, and ABC broke the trend by airing a new episode of the game show “Press Your Luck”.
While the broadcast networks passed on Biden’s speech, Deadline added that CNN and MSNBC carried the address on their cable networks while Tucker Carlson criticized the speech live on Fox News.
If Joe Biden is so popular, why does he need to do angry speeches with a blood red background, shouting about Trump supporters?

More severe for the Biden White House, the networks deemed his remarks too nakedly “political” in nature, according to The Washington Post.
“These people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe sensitive discussions, cited the speech’s criticism of Trump — Biden’s possible political opponent in 2024 — and its timing two months before the midterm elections,” reported the Post.
While the focus of Biden’s “Red Sermon” was explicitly to label millions of Americans as extremists who should be possibly arrested and definitely the subject of scorn, yesterday he narrowed his opposition to those Trump supporters who believe Biden stole the 2020 election.
In other words, Biden narrowed his vitriolic remarks to 70% of Republicans, or about 25.48 million Americans.
