As Republican governors duel for who can send the most illegal immigrants to affluent Democratic strongholds, Lisa Belcastro, the coordinator of the Martha’s Vineyard homeless shelter, is stressing that her facility is only temporary and cannot permanently house the 50 illegal immigrants shipped to the elite community.
Speaking to the press, Belcastro highlighted her facility’s inability to house 50 illegal immigrants when asked about challenges faced by the community.
“The difficult challenges are … We have, at some point in time, they have to move from here to somewhere else. Right?” Belcastro continued, “We cannot – we don’t have the services to take care of 50 immigrants.”

“We certainly don’t have housing, we’re in a housing crisis as we are in this island,” she explained, exasperated, “We don’t – we can’t house everyone here that lives here and works here. We don’t have housing for 50 more people.”
In longer remarks published by the Cape Cod Times, Belcastro clarified that shelter nestled in the elitist community is “an emergency shelter” and “not long term care,” meaning that her facility cannot be a permanent home to 50 illegal immigrants.
Belcastro acknowledged that the immigrants are in the United States looking for work, but stressed that “There is a legal process” and condemned both political parties and the media for using human lives as political pawns.
Despite earlier confusion, it is now clear that the illegal immigrants were sent to the wealthy alcove by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis last night.

The immigrants are rumored to have arrived after traveling from Venezuela and illegally crossing the border in Texas, only for the Biden White House to fly them to Florida, at which point they were intercepted by the DeSantis administration and sent to Martha’s Vineyard.
Martha’s Vineyard is a prestigious and pristine island community of 15,000 inhabitants located in the Atlantic off the coast of Massachusetts near Cape Cod.
While they may not live on the island full time, Martha’s Vineyard is described as a “magnet” for the ultra rich, including powerful businessmen, politicians, and celebrities.
Reported residents include the Obama family, Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, and Amy Schumer, according to Business Insider.
Barack and Michelle Obama’s beachfront 6,892 square foot Martha’s Vineyard mansion boasts 7 bedrooms and 8.5 bathrooms, per The Vineyard Gazette. The former president and his wife bought the property for an eye popping $11.75 million.
