Kathy Griffin, perhaps best known for her photo shoot featuring a prop mutilated head of 45th president Donald Trump, has warned that civil war will break out in America should Democrats lose the 2022 midterm elections this November.
“If you don’t want a Civil War, vote for Democrats in November. If you do want Civil War, vote Republican,” Griffin tweeted.

Griffin’s critics were quick to point out the irony of a woman who once held a decapitated head resembling Trump and passed it off as art now warning, or perhaps threatening, a civil war.

“This is WRONG. Crazy Hollywood Leftie threatening ‘Civil War’ if Dems don’t win. Sadly, this is today’s Left: angry, hateful & violent,” tweeted Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX).
“I don’t want to change your mind or argue with you, but I don’t want to share a country with you either. A peaceful divorce leaves everyone better off,” tweeted political commentator Michael Malice.

After facing extreme backlash over the portrayal of her holding a bloody severed head of then-President Donald Trump, Griffin apologized and said she went “way too far.”
“Hey, everybody, it’s me, Kathy Griffin,” she would go on to say in an apology video. “I sincerely apologize. I am just now seeing the reaction to these images. I’m a comic. I crossed the line. I move the line. Then I cross it. I went way too far.”
“The image is too disturbing. I understand how it offends people. It wasn’t funny. I get it. I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my career. I will continue. I ask your forgiveness. Taking down the image. I am going to ask the photographer to take down the image. And I beg for your forgiveness. I went too far, I made a mistake, and I was wrong,” she continued.
Griffin reportedly fell into a “dark depression” following her bloody Trump head photoshoot, claiming her suicidal thoughts became “obsessive.”
“I didn’t know what to do with myself,” the comedian said. “I was just such a crazy workaholic, and all of a sudden, I had this time on my hands, and then I was depressed, and things just weren’t looking up.”
