Former Green Beret Joe Kent has declared victory in Washington’s contentious 3rd district GOP primary on Wednesday, and called for a “unified Republican party” to “take back our Republic starting this November.”
Kent, who secured a major endorsement from former President Donald Trump, defeated incumbent Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler and several other candidates.
Herrera Beutler was one of two Washington representatives who voted to impeach Trump, and did not express regret for that decision during the contentious primary.
“Thank you to all my supporters & my Republicans opponents; we fought a hard primary & have emerged stronger as a party,” Kent tweeted on Wednesday. “Now we will unify to take our nation back.”

“Now is the time to unite as Republicans because the stakes have never been higher,” Kent said in a statement, later adding, “The only thing that can and will stop them is a unified Republican party that is going to take back our Republic starting this November.”
Another contender in the GOP primary, Christian public speaker Heidi St. John, called for party unity following Kent’s victory this week.
“It’s time for Republicans to unite and defeat both Patty Murray and Marie Perez with a straight ticket Republican vote from top-to-bottom,” St. John wrote. “It’s time to take our country back. We need to set our differences aside and stand together as conservatives to save America and stop Biden’s dangerous radical-left Socialist agenda, before it’s too late.”
Kent will face Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez in November.

God will decide your fate, Kent!… and until November, you are obliged to follow Romans C. 13: vs. 1-3.
