Joe Biden shared a moment with a 9-year-old girl that made many uncomfortable as he spoke at a campaign event for stroke survivor John Fetterman and gubernatorial candidate Josh Shapiro.
Biden, himself a survivor of brain surgery, spotted the preteen girl in the crowd and asked her age.
“How old are you baby, how old are you? How old are you?” When he heard the girl’s response, Biden replied jubilantly, “Almost double figures!”

This is not Biden’s first speech where he made remarks about an underage girl that in turn made observers uncomfortable, nor is it his first speech to be marred by a faux pas.
At a separate political event in May of this year, Biden told a child, “I love those barrettes in your hair” before adding, “she looks like she’s 19 years old sitting there like a little lady with her legs crossed.”

There is, in fact, an entire website dedicated to Biden’s oddest interpersonal moments from before he ascended to the White House.
The website JoeBiden.info features more than 10 clips and gifs showing Biden touching or sniffing the hair of women and children while in public. Many of the images and videos were captured during the Obama administration, or more recently.
In fact, around the time Biden announced his 2020 presidential campaign in 2019, the former vice president offered an apology for his previous interpersonal interactions with adult women.

In a long form interview, Biden formally apologized for inappropriate touching after multiple women accused him of making them feel uncomfortable.
Around the same time, Democrat activist Tara Reade would accuse Biden of sexually molesting her.
Biden’s daughter Ashley Biden once wrote in a diary that she might have been molested as a child, and recalled sharing “probably not appropriate” showers with her father.
