Americans were told last night by press team of Florida Governor DeSantis that there would be a “major announcement” that would result in the “liberal media meltdown of the year” as some have believed that he may run for president in 2024.
As speculation grew, DeSantis on Thursday announced that he had fired the George Soros-backed State Attorney Andrew Warren due to his recent promise to not prosecute doctors who sterilize minors or individuals who do not adhere to state restrictions on abortion.
“The Constitution of Florida has vested the veto power in the governor, not individual state attorneys. So, when you flagrantly violate your oath of office, when you make yourself above the law, you have violated your duty. You have neglected your duty, and you are displaying a lack of confidence to be able to perform those duties,” DeSantis said during a press conference.
“And so today we are suspending State Attorney Andrew Warren, effective immediately,” he said as members of the crowd cheered.
Prosecutors have a duty to enforce the law, not pick and choose which laws they agree with.

DeSantis continued, referring to Soros-backed prosecutors all around the U.S. as a “pathogen” that has resulted in the ignorance of enforcing existing laws. Many of these prosecutors have been criticized for not enforcing laws on crime in U.S. cities, which some have attributed to rising crime levels.
“We are not going to allow this pathogen that’s been around the country of ignoring the law, we are not going to allow that to get a foothold in the state of Florida,” DeSantis said. “We are going to make sure that our laws are enforced and that no individual prosecutor puts himself above the law.”
DeSantis press secretary Christina Pushaw celebrated her boss’s decision on Twitter.
“Progressive prosecutors backed by Soros have refused to enforce laws across the country,” wrote Pushaw. “This dereliction of duty is why crime is surging. But [DeSantis] won’t stand for this. He just suspended the one in Florida.”
Progressive prosecutors backed by Soros have refused to enforce laws across the country. They treat criminals with deference & victims with contempt. This dereliction of duty is why crime is surging. But @GovRonDeSantis won’t stand for this. He just suspended the one in Florida.

Some had speculated that DeSantis may be teasing a 2024 presidential campaign announcement, but Pushaw quickly reaffirmed that DeSantis is only seeking reelection as governor.
DeSantis’ press secretary Christina Pushaw insisted that the announcement would not be “anything campaign related” – dashing the hopes of those expecting a 2024 presidential announcement – and added that DeSantis had already announced his bid for reelection as governor of the state, leaving many speculating as to what the announcement would be.
He already announced he’s running for re-election as governor 😀 All I can say about the surprise announcement tomorrow is that it’s not about anything campaign related. It’s official business https://t.co/K4udVhxU6K
