UK: Top Tory Leadership Candidate Wanted to Lock Up People With Covid in Isolation Centres, Minister Claims

Jeremy Hunt, a top candidate to take over from Boris Johnson as the UK Prime Minister, wanted to put people who tested positive for covid in isolation centres.

Speaking to Dan Wooton on GB News, Nadine Dorries, the current Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, recounted an interaction she had with Jeremy Hunt, a front-runner in the race to take over from Boris Johnson as the British Prime Minister.

Wooton noted that during the covid pandemic, Hunt had backed “an authoritarian, Chinese, zero-covid policy,” but the “mainstream media” had ignored.

Dorries recalled that during her role as a minister within the Health Department, she was contacted by Hunt, who told her to convince the then Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, to implement that severe zero-covid policy.

“You’ve got to tell him that you don’t put sick people in the hospitals,” Hunt allegedly told Dorries. “My wife’s family have experience of this. When someone tests positive, you take them from their home, and you take them to an isolation centre, and you leave them there in isolation centres – that’s the only way you can beat covid.”

Hunt’s wife is Lucia Guo, who presents a show on Sky TV run by the Chinese state-owned China International TV Corporation, in partnership with Chinese government’s London tourism office. The programme has been accused by human rights campaigners as “whitewashing” atrocities committed by the regime.

Dorries told Wooton that she had responded to Hunt by arguing that “the British public will not stand for mothers and fathers and children being removed from their family and their home and put in isolation.” However, according to Dorries, Hunt refused to believe it, and asked her to show evidence backing that claim up.

“We would still probably be in some sort of lockdown if Jeremy Hunt had been made Prime Minister instead of Boris Johnson,” Dorries added. Hunt had ran against Johnson for the leadership of the Conservative Party after Theresa May resigned in 2019.

She claimed that after he lost the election, Hunt said that the British government under Boris would not be able to deliver Brexit, which would cause his administration to collapse. However, Hunt would be ready to “swoop in” and take over when it happened, Dorries said.

Update: since this article was written, Hunt has been knocked out of the leadership contest.

It was good that no one listened to this asshole, but they definitely should have isolated him in a fucking jail cell when he caught Vivid and see how he liked it.
