Tesla CEO Elon Musk denied having a fling with the wife of Google co-founder Sergei Brin, who reportedly ended his relationship with his wife following the affair and is now supposedly in the process of divesting from Musk’s businesses.
Allegations surfaced this weekend in the Wall Street Journal claiming that Musk – who is a well known friend of Brin’s – had “a brief relationship” with his wife in December of last year, when she and Brin were “separated but still living together,” per CNN. The report noted that Brin had long been a friend and supporter of Musk’s, having provided around $500,000 in funding for Tesla in 2008. The Wall Street Journal claimed that Musk “dropped to one knee in front of Brin at a party” to beg forgiveness for the affair.
Musk dismissed the report in a series of tweets, claiming that he was at a social gathering with Brin when the report dropped and characterizing it as “character assassination.”
“This is total bs,” wrote Musk. “Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night!” He added that “nothing romantic” happened in his relationship with Brin’s wife.
This is total bs. Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night!
I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around. Nothing romantic.

“The character assassination attacks have reached a new level this year,” wrote Musk, “but the articles are all nothing-burgers.”
The African-American billionaire added, “I work crazy hours, so there just isn’t much time for shenanigans.”
Yeah, the character assassination attacks have reached a new level this year, but the articles are all nothing-burgers.
I work crazy hours, so there just isn’t much time for shenanigans.
None of the key people involved in these alleged wrongdoings were even interviewed!

Elsewhere, Musk dismissed the Wall Street Journal as opposition media.
“WSJ has run so many bs hit pieces on me and Tesla I’ve lost count,” he wrote. “It’s embarrassing for them, frankly.”
Musk added, “They once wrote an article saying [the] FBI was about to arrest me, so I called FBI to ask what’s up and they said WSJ article was total bs.”
When asked what could be done to stop dishonest media smears, Musk told his followers they should “Call them out on it, I guess.”
“WSJ is supposed to have a high standard for journalism and, right now, they are way sub tabloid,” wrote Musk. “WSJ should be running stories that actually matter to their readers and have solid factual basis, not third-party random hearsay.”

Musk is currently embroiled in a legal battle with Twitter after he attempted to buy the platform earlier this year. Musk claims that Twitter was unwilling to be transparent when reporting the number of bot users on the platform, and thus the deal could not move forward.
After first attempting to block the deal, Twitter is now suing Musk to force him to buy the company at the price he originally offered.
Musk, meanwhile, has indicated that a deal may be reached for a lower number.
