Human Events Daily host Jack Posobiec was briefly detained by police while covering the World Economic Forum summit held annually in Davos, Switzerland earlier today, with police reportedly dispersing after independent journalist Savanah Hernandez began recording the confrontation.

Posobiec shared video of the interaction with police on his Twitter account.

“BREAKING: We just got detained at Davos,” wrote Posobiec. The video shows armed police officers asking Posobiec to quit recording, claiming without evidence that he did not have the right to record on the street corner. The police then began requesting identification from Posobiec and the men he was traveling with.

Posobiec and his crew were not informed why they were being detained, according to The Post Millennial, but the journalist told the outlet he was later told it was because the group looked “suspicious” while filming at the entrance of the World Economic Forum event.

Timcast reported that Posobiec was ultimately allowed to leave freely after independent journalist Savanah Hernandez, who formerly worked for The Blaze and Infowars, began recording his interaction with Swiss police.

The outlet reports that Posobiec and his crew were detained for around an hour when Hernandez arrived.

Posobiec later confirmed he was released on Twitter, going live on the platform to discuss his interaction with police.

“One by one, they asked us to empty our pockets and they frisked us. They tried to take some of the crew away,” said Posobiec.

“Kevin shows up and starts filming,” he said, pointing at another journalist. “Then, who should show up but someone I haven’t seen in months? The wonderful Savanah Hernandez shows up and she starts filming, and she starts getting right in the face of the detectives and the officers, ‘Why are you detaining him?'”

Hernandez said that another journalist was detained the previous day, and said she rushed to Posobiec’s location because she wanted to know why the Swiss police were detaining reporters.

“I saw your tweet that you were detained and I came right over because I wanted to see what’s going on,” said Hernandez.

This year’s World Economic Forum summit anticipates around 2,500 global leaders from both government and the private sector, and Timcast reports that “The theme of this year’s meeting is ‘History at a Turning Point: Government Policies and Business Strategies.'”

Not impressed with Posobiec. Think he’s a Fed. He took his honeymoon in Israel.
