Vice President Kamala Harris claimed without evidence this week that the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade would lead to bans on the use of contraception as well as gay marriage.
“The right to privacy that forms the basis of Roe is the same right to privacy that protects the right to use contraception, and the right to marry the person you love, including a person of the same sex,” Harris claimed.
“Overturning Roe opens the door to restricting those rights,” Harris added.

The Vice President did not present and evidence or data linking Roe v Wade to same sex marriage laws, or showing that overturning the former would lead to ban on contraception or same sex marriage.
Harris was not the only prominent Democrat to offer up an unsolicited opinion on a potential overturn of Roe v Wade this week.
Rep. Eric Swalwelll (D-CA) stated on Wednesday that the decision for a mother to abort her child is like deciding which job opportunity to pursue.
“You know, we are talking about a decision that is so personal, and one that families and individuals with their families and their friends make oftentimes at the kitchen table,” Swalwell said.
“It’s one of those few decisions in your life that will require you to consult with your friends and your family,” Swalwell continued. “It’s like deciding what career you’re going to pursue, whether you’re gonna have a family, who you’re going to marry.”
