Several journalists and staffers for CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS and Politico who attended the White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday have tested positive for COVID-19 despite Joe Biden’s boasting about everyone at the event being “fully vaccinated and boosted.”
“I know there are a lot of questions about whether we should gather here tonight because of COVID,” Biden said during his remarks at the dinner. “Well, we’re here to show the country that we’re getting through this pandemic.”
“Plus, everyone has to prove they are fully vaccinated and boosted,” Biden continued, mocking Fox News. “Just contact your favorite Fox News reporter. They’re all here. Vaccinated and boosted.”
Since the event, several reporters have tested positive for COVID-19 despite having proved that they were triple or quadruple vaccinated in order to attend the dinner.
ABC News’ Chief Washington Correspondent Jonathan Karl was first reported by Politico to have tested positive for the virus after sitting next to Kim Kardashian and interacting with Biden.
“He tested positive for COVID Monday night, but tested negative on Saturday afternoon before the White House Correspondents Dinner by medically-supervised staff,” a person familiar with the matter said. “He had no symptoms on Saturday. Jon is currently isolating and participating in contract tracing.”
Steve Herman, a chief national correspondent for VOA had also announced that he tested positive for the virus on Twitter yesterday, adding that he felt “increasingly achy” seemingly due to his COVID infection.
While the actual number of triple and quadruple vaccinated WH Correspondents Dinner COVID infections are currently unknown, Steven Portnoy of CBS News Radio said case numbers remain in the “single digits,” according to the New York Times.
This comes as prominent triple and quadruple vaccinated Democrats continue to be infected with the virus, including Kamala Harris and Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) Valiant News reported.
Fox News host Tucker Carlson recently pointed out that Democrats regularly post near-identical statements after contracting COVID-19 post vaccine.
He said Democrats seem to view the COVID-19 vaccine as a “sacrament,” and recite the same “script” when they catch the coronavirus despite being vaccinated.
The Fox News host slammed Harris and other Democrats for saying how “grateful” or “thankful” they are for the vaccines despite getting COVID anyways.
“Kamala Harris has, guess which disease, oh, COVID! You know what that means, it means the vaccines work perfectly cause when you get the vaccine, you get COVID, cause that’s what their intended to do,” Carlson joked.
