Conservative reporter Drew Hernandez confronted Texas gubernatorial candidate Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke today, following the Democrat’s attempt to crash a press conference held by Gov. Greg Abbott to discuss the tragic Uvalde school shooting that left at least 22 dead.
As O’Rourke participated in left wing protests held outside the NRA Convention in Houston, Texas, he was confronted by Hernandez, who is affiliated with Turning Point USA, over what some have called a “stunt” to jumpstart his political campaign.
“Hey Beto, how do you feel exploiting dead kids?” O’Rourke, at this point, seemed to realize Hernandez was not a friendly reporter and attempted to move away from the crowd. “How do you feel exploiting dead kids Beto?” O’Rourke continued moving through the crowd.
“The parents in Uvalde said they didn’t want you there,” said Hernandez.”What do you say to the parents I talked to yesterday in Uvalde who said they didn’t want you there?”
“They didn’t want you to do that, Beto” he added. “They didn’t want you to exploit dead kids, Beto.”
BETA MALE: I confronted @BetoORourke today and asked him why he decided to exploit dead kids, he refused to give me an answer. He sure seems big and bold on stage, but when confronted he won’t even look at me pic.twitter.com/7QBkz2TT3D

O’Rourke stormed Abbott’s press conference on Wednesday, and was almost immediately shut down by the Mayor of Uvalde who called him a “sick son of a b*tch” for the stunt.
“I can’t believe that you’re a sick son of a b*tch who would come to a [press conference] like this to make it a political issue,” said Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin.
“This is on you, until you change…” Beto continued, before being interrupted by McLaughlin again.
“It’s on assh*les like you!” McLaughlin replied. “Why don’t you get out of here!”

O’Rourke made promises to “come for” Americans’ Second Amendment right to bear arms a central part of his 2020 presidential campaign, and was promised a spot in the Biden administration as a result.
That position has yet to materialize, and the Hollywood-supported Democrat is now running to replace Abbott as the first Democratic governor of the state since 1995.
