Popular mixed martial arts fighter Kevin Holland was reportedly one of three customers who subdued and disarmed an active shooter in Houston, Texas on Monday night.

ABC 13 reported that around 11:30 p.m. “Some quick-thinking customers, who also have some fighting chops, took down a man with a gun at Ra Sushi in Highland Village late Monday night, police said.”

MMA journalist Ariel Helwani claimed on Tuesday via Twitter that “A gunman opened fire in a Houston restaurant last night. 40-50 ppl were inside, per reports. 3 men immediately took the gunman down, subdued him and took his gun away.”

“No one was injured,” Helwani continued. “One of those heroes? KEVIN HOLLAND, I’m told. He did it again.”

“Yo, they was tripping tonight,” Holland said in an Instagram post that confirmed he was at the restaurant during the shooting. “They got a shootout in this b****. They got into a shootout in this thing. They wanted me to do an interview but I’m like, nah, I’m good.”

Holland continued to allude to the incident on Twitter on Monday, posting a Batman gif accompanied by the caption “So how is the new Batman movie? Asking for a friend.”

In October 2021, Holland used his MMA skills to neutralize an alleged car thief.

“Get on top, knee on belly, hit him with the little Khabib scarf hold,’ Holland recounted. “He was like, ‘I can’t breathe,’ so that’s when I picked him up, put him on the curb. I didn’t want to be like the cop with the Can’t Breathe guy, so I was like f*ck it let’s just put him over here.”
