Twitter censored the verified account of The Babylon Bee, a conservative leaning Christian satire website, after the site announced that Biden administration Assistant Health Secretary and Four-Star Admiral Rachel Levine, who is male-to-female transgender, would be the recipient of its “Man of the Year” award.
Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon announced the censorship action on his personal Twitter account.
“I just received this notice that we’ve been locked out of our account for ‘hateful conduct,'” Dillon wrote.
Twitter apparently accused the Christian comedy outlet of engaging in “hateful conduct” against a person “on the basis” of their “gender” or “gender identity,” according to the message they sent Dillon.
The account was suspended for 12 hours, however, the countdown will begin when they acknowledge Twitter’s rules and delete the tweet. Thus far, Dillon has refused to delete the tweet.
We're told our account will be restored in 12 hours, but the countdown won't begin until we delete the tweet that violates the Twitter Rules. pic.twitter.com/85tdmrqJpU

Admiral Levine is the White House’s Assistant Secretary for Health at the Department of Health and Human Services, and recently became the “first female four-star admiral in the history of the U.S. Public Health Service Commisioned Corps,” according to the New York Times.
This development drew more ire from social conservatives who point out that Admiral Levine was born a biological male and raised a family while living as a man named Richard.
In its comedy article, The Babylon Bee described Admiral Levine’s job and wrote that “he serves proudly as the first man in that position to dress like a western cultural stereotype of a woman.”
At the end of the satire piece, the outlet acknowledges Admiral Levine’s status as a transgender woman.
“Since announcing this award, we’ve been told that Levine actually identifies as a woman,” wrote the satirists. “We have still chosen to give the award as his self-identification has no bearing on the truth. Congratulations, Rachel Levine!”
Twitter’s censorship of the Christian site comes after the big tech site allowed an inflammatory tweet from Rick Wilson, co-founder of the anti-Trump Lincoln Project, remain on its platform despite it seeming to clearly violate its rules.
Wilson was wishing for the death of Nick Fuentes, a Latino activist who organizes the America First Political Action Conference and hosts a successful podcast.
