Former Rep. Ron Paul warned viewers of his YouTube show, the Liberty Report, that the Biden White House may escalate tensions with Russia as a bid to maintain popularity as the “war on COVID” begins “dying down” after over two years.
Paul, 86, who as a medical doctor serving in Congress earned the name “Dr. No” for voting in the negative on every piece of legislation he believed unconstitutional, previously ran for president three times. In each presidential campaign, Paul pushed libertarian messages of non intervention in foreign affairs and sound currency combined with low taxes in economic affairs.
In the latest broadcast of the Liberty Report, Paul began by noting that Biden declared that food scarcity in America is the price to pay for fighting Russian President Vladimir Putin economically.
“He was pretty blunt,” said Paul. “He said food shortages are gonna be real, it’s a real story, people better be prepared, sacrifice your liberty because we have to help the people of the world.”
The three time presidential candidate referred to Biden’s admission this week that food shortages are “gonna be real” as a result of the sanctions against Russia. He also admitted that Russia would not be the only economy to suffer from the U.S.-led sanctions.
Biden “says that’s the price of being against Russia and that’s the most sacred thing,” explained Paul, “the most dedicated, patriotic thing the American people can do is be anti-Putin and anti-Russia.”
Paul seemed to suggest the United States was being hypocritical considering its former alliance with the Soviet Union during World War 2.
The United States funded the Soviet Union to help its defense against Nazi Germany, and with its allies ultimately allowed the Russian-led empire to sack Berlin at the end of the war, rather than advancing to the Nazi capital themselves.
“To me, even during WW2, after they had Stalin for all these years, he murdered millions of people, we became allies with him,” said Paul. “I think it’s so ironic how we aligned ourselves in WW2 with Stalin, at the same time look at what we’re doing with somebody who’s approach, it has to be acknowledged, is somewhat different than Stalin.”
“But they’re still painting him as Stalin because they need a war going on,” Paul asserted.
He warned that because the “war on COVID” is nearly over, the Biden administration is eager to start another war that could have lasting consequences.
“The war on COVID is dying down, and they have to do it,” said Paul. “People have to recognize it’s a battle between NATO and the West, including the United States, against Russia.”
Paul explained,”The demagogues in the media have done a pretty fantastic job from their viewpoint of stirring up trouble and hate and targeting Russia and so far I don’t see – I mean with COVID, we knew that would come to an end.”
He added, “We should be more concerned that it’s going to get worse.”
