In an interview published today, 45th President Donald Trump called for Russian President Vladimir Putin to release information concerning Hunter Biden’s business dealings with Eastern European oligarchs.

From John Solomon at Just The News:

In an interview with the Just the News television show on Real America’s Voice airing Tuesday, the former president cited a 2020 Senate report that disclosed Russian oligarch Yelena Baturina, then the wife of Moscow’s mayor, provided $3.5 million a decade ago to a company co-founded by President Joe Biden’s son and unanswered questions about why the money was given.

“I would think Putin would know the answer to that. I think he should release it,” Trump said during the interview at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida. He added, “I think we should know that answer.”

Hunter Biden’s business dealings have been under investigation by a grand jury in Delaware for potential tax violations, foreign lobbying issues and money laundering. Hunter Biden has since acknowledged the investigation but still maintains his innocence.

Trump voiced his concerns over Hunter Biden’s relationship with Nikolai Zlochevsky, the Ukrainian oligarch who owns Burisma Holdings – the Ukrainian gas company which hired Hunter Biden to serve as a board member in 2014 and paid him hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.

The U.S. State Department had considered Burisma Holdings to be engaged in corruption by bribing Ukrainian government officials, and stated that Hunter Biden’s involvement with the company could be considered a conflict of interest.

Hunter Biden’s father, then Vice President Joe Biden under President Barack Obama, was overseeing U.S. policy with regards to Ukraine at the time.

“Now, you won’t get the answer from Ukraine,” Trump said, referring to his 2020 impeachment as a result of him encouraging the Ukrainians to investigate the potential corruption.

CNN webcaster Chris Wallace had previously shut down discussions of the Hunter Biden-Ukraine corruption scandals during the 2020 election, Trump added. At the time, Wallace was a major host for Fox News.

“How is it that the mayor of Moscow, his wife gave the Biden family three and a half million dollars? I think Putin now would be willing to probably give that answer,” Trump said. “I’m sure he knows.”

“I would think Putin would know the answer to that. I think he should release it.”

President Trump further stressed that he had been tougher on Putin during his term, more so than Democrat officials, by shutting down the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, sanctioning Russia, strengthening America’s nuclear capabilities, and giving more financial support to NATO.

“I’m the best thing that ever happened to NATO, because I made them pay. So NATO has plenty of money now,” he said. “And by the way, that’s another, I’m the one who brought up Nord Stream 2.”

Trump went on, “I terminated it. They weren’t gonna have it. He (Biden) then opened it.

“And then they say, ‘He’s so nice to Russia.’ I’m the one that put the biggest sanctions on Russia,” he said.
