The Walt Disney Company released a statement condemning Florida for its new parental rights law that has been called the “Don’t Say Gay” bill based on little truth. The children’s former children’s cartoon giant that now dominates American entertainment demands the bill be repealed by the legislature or defeated in the courts.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the bill into law earlier today, and a statement posted to Twitter revealed the Mickey Mouse copyright owner’s displeasure.
“Our goal as a company is for this law to be repealed by the legislature or struck down in the courts,” wrote the Walt Disney Company, which added that it “should never have been signed into law.” Disney stressed that it remains “committed to supporting” left wing political organizations seeking to dismantle the law.

The law does not contain the word “gay” in it whatsoever, and does not prohibit educators from using the word. Instead, it prevents educators from teaching complex gender theory to children considered at a “primary” grade or age.
Conservatives, meanwhile, frequently refer to the law as anti-grooming legislation.
The bill was introduced amid hundreds of reports of children being taught controversial gender theory and critical race theory in public schools that some argue led to the series of Republican victories last year in Virginia that saw Republicans assume control of government in that state after years of Democrat control.
DeSantis expressed great pride at signing the controversial bill into law earlier today, and appeared to take a swipe at Hollywood – and ostensibly Disney – for working with convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein.
“If the people who held up degenerates like Harvey Weinstein as heroes are opposing us on parents rights,” declared DeSantis, “I wear that like a badge of honor.”
DeSantis absolutely drops the hammer on Hollywood for their criticisms of Florida at the Oscars last night:

Democrats strongly oppose the bill, and last night Hollywood celebrities used the Academy Awards as an opportunity to say the word “gay” repeatedly in an apparent attempt to infuriate DeSantis.
