Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) was appointed to the Homeland Security Committee on Tuesday, sparking outrage among left-wing activist chapters of the corporate press.
Greene had previously been stripped of her committee assignments, but has become closer to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy in recent weeks during the GOP’s short-lived battle over Speaker nominations.
News that Greene would once again be on a prestigious committee was not received well by Joe Biden fans and left-wing journalists.
Insurrectionist Marjorie Taylor Greene has just been placed on the House Homeland Security Committee. Do you feel secure?

Marjorie Taylor Greene of all people gets a prime spot on the Homeland Security committee . How disgusting is it to have a conspiracy theorist being on a committee like this. Congress is turning into one big joke.

As the former Vice Chair of the House Homeland Security Committee, I’m HORRIFIED that it was just announced that Marjorie Taylor Greene will serve on the committee.
A QAnon conspiracy theorist + Jan 6 insurrectionist doesn’t belong on a committee that exists to fight extremism.

As a member of Congress from Georgia’s 14th District, Greene ran as a pro-Trump Republican candidate in the 2020 and 2022 election cycles, and won her district by a large margin.
Ms. Greene is an outspoken proponent of conservative policies on immigration, national security, and foreign policy matters. During her campaign she said that she wants to “secure our borders, defend American jobs and put America first” – themes echoed by many other conservative politicians.
Ms. Greene has positioned herself as a highly vocal critic of the Biden administration since they took office in January 2021. She has frequently lambasted President Biden’s approach to border security, claiming that he has weakened it since taking office.
In addition, she has accused the president and his allies of fostering divisiveness by enacting policies which she believes give preference to certain groups over others – notably illegal immigrants over citizens or legal residents of the United States.
It is time to restore dignity to the People, Border Patrol, ICE, & the families who have lost a loved one to the Cartel’s fentanyl murders and illegal alien crime.
I serve the American People and no one else. As far as I’m concerned American dignity is the only one that matters. https://t.co/sPgdl5qBS3

The Homeland Security Committee would be an ideal platform for Ms Green to continue her work advocating for her conservative principles on issues related to homeland security. Since being appointed to the committee, Ms Green has already expressed support for efforts to increase resources dedicated towards border protection and stricter enforcement measures along our southern border with Mexico – both priority issues for many Republican lawmakers this year.
