Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani revealed that multiple influential Republicans, both in media and government, ignored the Hunter Biden laptop when he tried to share the story in 2019.
Giuliani, who ran 45th President Donald Trump’s legal scramble following the 2020 presidential election and was previously instrumental in the publication of Hunter Biden’s laptop, made the remarks during an appearance on Newsmax TV.
According Giuliani, Fox News host Sean Hannity, Trump administration Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and John Solomon of Just The News all refused to run some early portion of the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2019.
“I had this whole thing – let’s say half of it; certainly enough to prosecute — in 2019,” told Newsmax TV’s Amanda Brilhante while describing his former hopes for the explosive nature of the story.
“I gave it to Hannity in early 2019,” said Giuliani, “then to John Solomon, then to Mike Pompeo.” He noted that Pompeo “also buried it,” and that former Trump administration Attorney General Bill Barr “caved like an empty suit.”

Giuliani, who was reportedly banned from Fox News for his remarks disparaging the Biden family, is the individual reportedly responsible for getting the laptop to the New York Post, which is the outlet that ultimately published a long series of excerpts from the laptop.
Though the Post did publish what Giuliani gave them, others have wondered if the decision to hand over the laptop to one single outlet helped big tech censor the materials.
Twitter infamously banned users from accessing the New York Post’s articles on the subject, and Facebook algorithmically censored the content by reducing its placement in its users’ feeds.
A glut of current and former intelligence officials declared the laptop to be Russian propaganda, and only in the last few months have establishment media outlets begun to accept that the laptop, and its contents, are authentic.
