Left wing media personality Brian Stelter acknowledged over the weekend that Hunter Biden poses “a real problem” for his elderly father, and may cause Joe Biden to abandon his plans to run for a second term.
Stelter was joined by former Jill Biden spokesperson Michael LaRosa – who left the First Lady Doctor after apologizing on her behalf for comparing Latinos to “breakfast tacos” – and declared that Hunter’s business deals and the subsequent federal investigation into his actions are not just a right wing talking point.
“What about Hunter?” Stelter asked LaRosa on his weekend “Reliable Sources” broadcast.
“Hunter under federal investigation. Charges could be coming at any time,” said Stelter. “This is not just a right wing media story, this is a real problem for the Bidens.”

LaRosa insisted that the Biden family – ostensibly, including Hunter – would make a group decision about whether to run in 2024, undermining Biden’s repeated statements that he plans to seek a second term.
“Look, they make decisions as a family,” LaRosa told Stelter. “And, they will make that decision when it’s time.”
A federal investigation into Hunter Biden has been ongoing since at least 2018, and it was reported last month that the investigation is approaching a “critical juncture” at which point investigators will need to decide whether to charge the drug addicted son of the 79-year-old president.
According to left wing network CNN, while no final decision has been made, possible charges “could include alleged tax violations and making a false statement in connection with Biden’s purchase of a firearm at a time he would have been prohibited” from owning one due to his drug addiction.
As noted by The Gateway Pundit, Stelter was part of the widespread media effort to downplay the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop, which revealed business deals that seemed to implicate Joe Biden.
“For all we know, these emails were made up, or maybe some are real and some are fakes, we don’t know,” Stelter claimed falsely in 2020. “But we do know that this is a classic example of the right-wing media machine.”
Same media correspondent in Oct. 2020: “Hunter has already apologized. Well, he's already admitted to poor judgment and swampy behavior. His father has said that it will not happen again. And at this point, most people have moved on.” (Thread): https://t.co/NWw6wVcV3y

Hunter Biden has been under increased scrutiny after a previously unknown trove of text messages, documents, and emails was unearthed by Internet sleuths earlier this year.
The Marco Polo research group, founded by former Trump administration official Garrett Ziegler, explained that the trove is actually “a backup of his iPhone” that Biden “saved to his laptop,” which ultimately was discarded in a Delaware computer repair store and found its way to the FBI, Rudy Giuliani, and the New York Post.
