White House Insists Economy in a ‘Transition,’ Not a Recession

“What we’re seeing, is that we are in a transition. We had this strong economic growth because of the work that this president has done in the past 18 months.”

Despite the United States officially entering a recession on Thursday, the Biden administration is pivoting their language and rebranding the unfortunate economic situation as a mere “transition.”

Speaking to liberal hosts of The View on Thursday afternoon, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre denied the reality that the U.S. is in a recession, and instead claimed that “we are in a transition.”

“What we’re seeing, is that we are in a transition. We had this strong economic growth because of the work that this president has done in the past 18 months,” she said.

“And now what we’re seeing is a transition into stable and steady growth,” she added. “But we get it. We get that people are still feeling a little bit more pain.”

As Valiant News reported this morning, the Bureau of Economic Analysis confirmed that America is now in a recession under the leadership of the Biden administration after the first estimate of the second quarter’s GDP was found to be at -0.930%, marking the American economy’s second quarter of negative growth.

Joe Biden inaccurately predicted on Monday that the U.S. was not going to enter a recession while speaking to the White House press corp. “We’re not going to be in a recession in my view,” Biden said.

While the U.S. now faces record inflation, a recession, and high gas prices, members of the administration still insist that America is on the right track.

According to remarks made by Biden Economic Adviser Council member Jared Bernstein, $4.30 for a gallon of gas is “positive news” for Americans who are feeling pain at the pump, Valiant News reported.

Speaking to liberal CNN host Kate Bolduan, Bernstein explained that “there’s also positive news that we should not overlook. I mean, the price at the pump is now $4.30 a gallon.”

The Biden administration has been touting the slight change in gas prices as a major accomplishment, despite the price being around $2.00 when Joe Biden first took office.
