Fox Sports commentator and ex-NFL player Shannon Sharpe took to Twitter on Sunday to declare that he would “rather pay 20 bucks a gallon than have [45th President Donald] Trump in office.”
Sharpe, whose net worth is estimated at $14 million, made the remarks in a response to a comment from a Twitter on a previous post where the former tight tend bemoaned the high price of gasoline.
“Anyone knows someone hiring that owns a gas station? You get a discount IF* you wrk [sic] at an establishment. Do ppl [sic] still siphon off gas? It was a thing when I was a growing up,” Sharpe tweeted.
Shannon do you still hate Donald?

“I’d rather pay 20 bucks a gallon than have Trump in office. Hope that answers your question” Sharpe then declared in response to a reply that asked, “Shannon do you still hate Donald?”
Sharpe’s response was heavily criticized in the replies as being tone-deaf towards the financial situations of impoverished and middle class Americans who are neither millionaires nor paid to appear on television.
Who cares about the struggling families, right? This is what happens when hate supersedes logic.

What about the people who aren’t in your income tax bracket? You know, the other 99 percent?

What's your address? I'll send you the bill for my gas.

Life was so terrible back in 2018. We had cheap energy, no supply chain shortage, housing was affordable, unemployment reached 3.5% without the inflation, plenty of jobs, crime was a lot lower, borders were under control, foreign affairs were solid.

Shannon Sharpe makes $3 million a year.
But he wants you and I to suffer because Donald Trump hurts his feelings. Clown. https://t.co/GPJ41OFPPd

CBS television host Stephen Colbert, who makes $15 million per year, made similar statements last month.
Colbert proclaimed, “Hell, I’ll pay $15 a gallon, ’cause I drive a Tesla.”
