Liberal CNN political analyst Paul Begala has expressed his frustration and disappointment following President Joe Biden’s impromptu press conference on February 9, 2024. Begala, a well-known Democratic strategist and former advisor to President Bill Clinton, admitted that he “woke up every two hours crying and wet the bed” after watching the widely-panned press conference.
During the press conference, President Biden addressed the findings of Special Counsel Robert Hur, who concluded that Biden had willfully stored classified documents in his garage and had a poor memory.
However, Biden’s performance was less than stellar, as he stammered and snapped his way through the event, contradicting the special counsel’s findings.

“How much Democratic bedwetting do you think there will be … and if you are the White House, how do you assuage said bedwetting?” CNN’s John Berman asked Begala following the Biden press conference.
“Oh yeah. Look, I’m a Biden supporter, and I slept like a baby last night. I woke up every two hours crying and wet the bed,” Begala said. “This is terrible for Democrats, and anybody with a functioning brain knows that. But here’s what you do: instead of calling a press conference and saying, ‘I really am sharp,’ you attack the other guy.”
He added, “You know, Joe Biden gave the strategy in 2012. I remember, he was vice president, and he said, ‘Don’t compare us to the Almighty, compare us to the alternative. So everything with Biden has to be not ‘I’m great,’ but, ‘The other guy’s really damaging, dangerous, a threat.’”
The special counsel’s report found that Biden had willfully retained classified material but did not recommend charges in part due to his memory issues. The report also mentioned Biden’s struggle to recall basic facts and dates, such as when he was Vice President and when his son Beau passed away.
