President Donald Trump has claimed that the judge presiding over his current fraud case has thrown out “about 80%” of the charges brought against him by the Democrat Attorney General’s office.
“Well I think that was very good, that last five minutes was outstanding, because the judge essentially conceded that the statute of limitations – that we won at the court of appeals – is in effect,” Trump told media on Monday. “Therefore about 80% of the case is over.”

The lawsuit, led by New York Attorney General Letitia James, alleges that Trump committed fraud in his business dealings. Last week, Engoron ruled that there was sufficient evidence for the case to proceed. This ruling could have significant implications for Trump if upheld on appeal.
Trump vehemently denies any wrongdoing. His defense team has portrayed him as a “master of finding value where others do not”. However, Engoron countered this narrative in his September 26 decision, stating that the defendants were living in a “fantasy world” by claiming documents overvaluing Trump’s assets.
Engoron, known for his discretion and professionalism, has declined to comment on Trump’s criticisms through a court spokesperson, as he is barred from commenting to the news media about the case.
Trump says, “It’s a witch hunt and a disgrace. It’s all run by a corrupt Attorney General.”
I agree. Do you?

Trump also took aim at James, characterizing her as a part of a “scam” and a “sham.” This comes after a failed attempt by Trump to delay the trial by suing Engoron.
The case is a bench trial, meaning that Engoron will be the sole arbiter of the case instead of a jury. It remains to be seen how these developments will impact the trial’s outcome and what it could mean for Trump’s future.
