A recent report from the Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has revealed that a senior-level FBI agent, despite being found guilty of policy violations, will not face any charges. The agent was discovered to have solicited prostitutes on multiple occasions at different massage parlors in the same geographic area.
The OIG report states that the office initiated an investigation “after receiving information from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), alleging that an FBI Senior Level Employee was associated with a foreign national, had failed to self-report close or continuous contact with this foreign national as required by FBI policy, and may have paid for and/or received sexual favors at the foreign national’s massage parlor or other massage parlors in the same geographic area.”
The investigation was able to substantiate the allegation that the “Senior Level Employee had solicited prostitutes on multiple occasions at various massage parlors in the same geographic area, in violation of Department of Justice and FBI policy.”
The agent then retired from the FBI prior to the conclusion of the OIG investigation. The OIG also noted that “When later contacted by the OIG for a voluntary interview, the Senior Level Employee declined to be interviewed.”
According to the OIG report, this behavior is in direct violation of both Department of Justice and FBI policies. However, the report does not indicate that the agent will be subject to any legal repercussions for his actions, as “Federal and State criminal prosecution was declined.”
