Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has dropped to third place behind businessman Vivek Ramaswamy in the race for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. 45th President Donald Trump remains dominant, with more than 50% of voters supporting him.
Ramaswamy, the businessman and hedge fund manager who has promised to pardon Trump if elected, rose to 11.4% in a new poll by Cygnal. Far from his high water mark of 29% in March of 2023, DeSantis has fallen to 10. Both candidates remain far behind Trump, who polled at 53%.
It should be noted that Cygnal revealed that its pollster Brock McCleary is a client of Ramaswamy. It is unclear when this relationship began.

Behind DeSantis are former vice president Mike Pence at 6.6%, Senator Tim Scott at 3.2%, former ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley at 2.8%, and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie at 2.1%. No other declared candidates, including Larry Elder, received 1% of support.
The poll showed Joe Biden narrowly beating Trump in a 2024 rematch, receiving 46.3% of the vote to Trump’s 43.4%. 10.3% of voters remained undecided.
However, pollsters found that a generic Republican candidate other than Trump would barely fare better. Such a candidate would receive 40.4% of the vote compared to Biden’s 42.5%, but 17.1% of voters were undecided.
Though the poll brought bad news to DeSantis, it may have brought worse news for Biden.
Cygnal found that 50.2% of Americans support an impeachment probe against Biden, and 40% of voters continue to hold a negative view of the White House. Additionally, 31% of voters believe Secret Service “covered up the culprit” who brought cocaine into the White House, and 49% believe Biden’s government is being “dishonest” about UFOs despite several attempts at disclosure.
As nearly one third of Americans do not trust the official story regarding the White House cocaine, a story broke yesterday claiming that Secret Service not only covered for the culprit, but informed Biden of their suspect.
That report, by Soldier of Fortune, fingered a member of the “Biden family orbit” as the cocaine culprit. The report was dismissed as false by the Secret Service.
