Tucker Carlson interviewed Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy for his viral “Tucker on Twitter” program. He released the interview on Thursday afternoon, urging his followers to listen to the candidate.

Announcing episode 17 of his new program, Carlson wrote that “Ramaswamy is the youngest Republican presidential candidate ever. He’s worth listening to.”

In less than one hour, Carlson’s interview of Ramaswamy had already registered more than 2.5 million views on X, formerly Twitter, as well as more than 15,000 likes and nearly 4,000 reposts.

Ramaswamy is a pharmaceutical businessman and hedge fund manager who pledged to invest in companies that do not support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs or other woke causes. Carlson interviewed him on his former Fox News program when the hedge fund was launched.

Though he does not poll close to former President Donald Trump in virtually any poll, Ramaswamy has surged to outperform Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in several recent surveys.

While some have highlighted excerpts of his book and previous statements about Juneteenth as evidence that Ramaswamy is insincere in his support for Trump and his America First agenda, the candidate has largely positioned himself as an ally of Trump, despite campaigning against him.

He was the first Republican candidate to speak out against the initial federal indictments against Trump, pledging to pardon the former president if elected to the White House.

His refusal to attack the former president has reportedly secured him enemies within the Republican Party, particularly with DeSantis and his supporters.

Breitbart News reported that DeSantis plans to deviate from his light criticisms of Trump and instead forcefully attack Ramaswamy during the first Republican debate.

Carlson launched “Tucker on Twitter” after being fired by Fox News, reportedly over his January 6 reporting. Some have claimed the network struck a deal with Dominion Voting Systems to end its lawsuit in exchange for Carlson’s termination, while others have claimed that founder Rupert Murdoch personally disagrees with Carlson’s populist worldview.
