The modern incarnation of Disney is a politically controversial company that aligns with left wing causes, particularly those related to LGBT issues, even in the face of a conservative boycott that left the company’s landmark theme park remarkably emptier and sparked a war with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
As the company continues to join the LGBTQ camp of the ongoing American culture war, its new, intersectional allies on the left may be horrified to know that new ally Mickey Mouse is destroying the environment by firing crude concoctions of gunpowder into the air each night Disneyland is open.
Environmentalists warn that the colorful explosions emit a barrage of toxic chemicals into the atmosphere, including heavy metals such as lead and copper, as well as sulfur and nitrogen compounds.
The fallout from these fireworks raises substantial concerns. The pollutants released during the shows contribute to air pollution, posing risks to both human health and the environment. As Disney continues to mesmerize visitors with these captivating displays, questions are being raised about the company’s commitment to true environmental stewardship.
Just this year, PBS reported that America’s passion for fireworks on Independence Day “introduce 42 percent more pollutants into the air than are found on a normal day.” At Disney, fireworks are a normal day.
If the left should decide to move on from its LGBT obsession for mere moments, perhaps it would learn that its new corporate ally is not the innocent rodent it seems. Destroying the environment is a great sin, but can it be undone by opposing Republican efforts to remove children’s books promoting sex acts from elementary schools? Is spending millions of dollars to oppose Florida’s so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill sufficient to purchase an indulgence from the woke mob on environmental issues?
There is another force to consider here, and it is the seemingly never ending quest of the modern multinational megacorporation to cut costs and save money. Self checkouts replace clerks, illegal immigrants replace high schoolers, H1-B visa recipients from India replace tech workers, and AI replaces the Indians. It’s the way of the modern world.
Perhaps Disney will opt to destroy its magical façade altogether by ending the nightly fireworks, likely saving a bundle in the process. The Magical Kingdom could even replace those nasty, gunpowder-based fireworks with a drone-based light show.
The experience will never quite be the same, but Disney will save money while continuing to please the left. Hopefully, it will come at the expense of their bottom line, as more Americans choose alternative options for entertainment.
