A representative of Jamie Fox has denied swirling rumors that claim the star suffered a serious side effect from one of the Covid-19 vaccines, sparking his lengthy hospital stay.
Foxx was hospitalized in April for an unspecified “medical emergency” that his family, friends, and surrogates have yet to name. As early as May 11, reports emerged that Foxx was fighting for his life and his family was “preparing for the worst,” underscoring the apparent seriousness of the medical episode.
The claim that Foxx suffered a blood clot caused by a Covid-19 vaccine was advanced by Gossip columnist A.J. Benza during an appearance on the “Ask Dr. Drew” podcast over the weekend, per Page Six, also claiming that the “Ray” actor was “partially paralyzed and blind,” though the rumors have swirled on social media for weeks.
“I had somebody in the room who let me know that Jamie had a blood clot in his brain after he got the shot,” Benza claimed without naming a source. He asserted that Foxx “did not want to get the shot” but “was pressured to get it” for a movie production.

Now a publicist for Foxx told NBC News the claim is “completely inaccurate,” and social media posts from daughter Corinne Foxx claim Foxx has been “home for weeks” and is now “well enough to play pickleball.”
Still, skeptics and supporters alike remain curious what landed the accomplished comedian, actor, and musician in the hospital.
Boxing legend Mike Tyson commented on Foxx’s illness last month on the PBD Podcast last month, sparking further questions when he first named a potential cause of the hospitalization then backtracked.
“He’s not feeling well. Yeah, there’s a stroke…” Tyson said on the podcast before apparently thinking better of it. “I don’t know what happened to him. Hey listen, we can’t anticipate our next breath. We don’t know when we are gonna die… After we leave this — bad stuff can happen.”
The mystery around the hospitalization and illness commentator Candace Owens to question the cause and implications of the illness.
“Their silence seems as though there is some veracity to this claim,” Owens said in her podcast earlier this week. “We’re all holding our breath to see whether or not Jamie Foxx speaks out.”
